Inclusivity Policy

Introduction

We are proud that our events are inclusive for all runners and continue to strive to deliver high quality events where everyone feels welcome.

Cut-off Times

We have generous cut-off times that are based on a pace of no more than 3 miles per hour.

Where possible, we offer an early start option for some of our longer races.

When you finish the flags will still be flying, regardless of when you cross the finish line. You deserve to receive the same experience as everyone else.

Prizes

Podium prizes in the Open and Female classes will be equal.

Podium finishers will be celebrated equally on social media.

Non-binary Runners

You can choose non-binary as a gender.

The Open Class allows you to compete outside of your gender binary.

If you podium in the Open Class, you will receive a prize.

Gender will be recorded as ‘Not Specified’ in results.

Transgender Runners

You can choose the gender to which you identify.

The Open Class allows you to compete without unwelcome attention or criticism. You are still able to compete in the Female Class if eligible to do so.

If you podium in the Open Class, you will receive a prize.

Results will be ranked individually by Class, Group (class and age group, e.g. O40) and overall.

Tshirts

When event t-shirts are provided, you have the option to purchase a unisex or female fit tee.

The tees are available in sizes ranging from XS to XXL.

We include size guides on our website.

Equal Coverage

We will try to use language on our website, social media and email communication that is inviting and welcoming for everyone.

Our photos, event coverage and results will be representative of everyone.

The Female and Open Class are separate races and will be celebrated equally.

Toilets

We provide female only and gender-neutral toilets at the start and finish.

Menstrual Products

Menstrual products are available in all female and unisex toilets at start and finish.

Menstrual products are also stored in a container at all checkpoints and are available upon request.

Pregnancy

If you discover you are pregnant, we will provide a refund excluding the cost of “booking protect”. This option is available for everyone.

Breastfeeding

If you are breastfeeding then please contact us if you have any specific needs, so that we can plan ahead.

Nutrition

At aid stations we will always have vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options available on request.

When post-race food is available, we will have dairy and dairy free milk options for your hot drink, plus vegetarian friendly, vegan friendly and gluten free options.

We will always endeavour to accommodate other dietary requirements when informed.

Affordability

We avoid special offers or early bird entry fees so that you pay the same as everyone else, even if you need time to save up to enter an event.

You can decide whether to purchase a t-shirt, neck tube and coaster-medal as an optional extra.

Supporting the Local Community

As far as possible, we aim to benefit local community groups by offering volunteering opportunities or making financial donations.

We encourage our participants to support local businesses when visiting the area.

We adopt a local first approach when making decisions about who to use when buying products for our events. We do work with businesses from further afield when local is not practical.

We are members of the Original Richmond Business and Tourism Association.

Continuous Improvement

We provide opportunity for participants to review our events through racecheck.com, facebook review and google reviews. Every review is read and we endeavour to act on constructive criticism to make our events the best they can be.
