Guided Walks

We love upland landscapes and we want to open up these experiences for new audiences. New for 2024, we are proud to offer guided walking to our programme of events.

Our guided walks are led by us personally. Jess is a recently qualified Hill and Moorland Leader.

Group numbers are strictly limited to 15 to allow us to provide the experience you need. Each route is graded to allow you to choose the best option for you.

Each event will have a mandatory kit list. As your guides, we will be carrying a first aid kit, group shelter, map and compass. You can bring your own maps and compass along if you wish.

Route Gradings

Level 1 – These routes will be aimed at those with no prior walking experience or for those looking for a gentle introduction to our walking groups. The walks will be on lowland level rights of way and be 3-5 miles in distance. Expected time 1.5-2.5 hours.

Level 2 – These routes will in upland areas but mainly lower level on clear trail paths or tracks. These routes will be a good beginner option for those new to hiking or looking to build their overall fitness level. Expected time 2-3 hours.

Level 3 – These routes may involve some technical sections and some longer ascents. A reasonable level of fitness will be required although distances will generally be below 10 miles. Expected time 3- 5 hours.

Level 4 – These routes will involve a greater level of ascent and technical or boggy sections. Distances will generally be 10-15 miles and expected times will be 5-6 hours depending on the target pace of the group.
