Details

An evening tour of the Old Gang Smelting Mills and mine ruins. Starting from Surrender Bridge, this run will be entirely on shooting tracks. After Level House we’ll gently ascend Forefield Rake. There’s an optional opportunity to bag the trig at Great Pinseat (a couple of hundred metres of heather bashing required) before following the track back to the road. A short 500m road section will bring us back to Surrender Bridge.

Pace: We will have two groups for this outing and you can decide which one you wish to choose on the night.

Gentle: this will involve walking up the ascents and jogging on the flatter sections at a steady pace. (5.5miles)

Moderate: this will involve walking up the steeper ascents but sustaining a jog pace (10-12 minute miles) on the flatter sections. (7miles)

Start: 6.45pm meet for a 7pm start

NB: There will be the option to head to the pub in Reeth after!
